My Wonderful Husband, Terry

Terry and Vicki
Established September 24, 1977

Wow, has it really been that long since I married my best friend?   Let me count 1, 2, 3, 4,..... Yep I guess it has been.  34 years come this September... Wow I can't believe it.  Terry and I met on April 24, 1977, we were engaged on May 24, 1977 and married September 24, 1977.  Has it been easy?  No, in fact there have been many times that I have wanted to throw in the towel and call it quits.  But like with many things you step back take a look at it and decide what the best thing to do is?  I try to step back (when I am not angry) look at the situation and decide... Was it worth the anger, the hurt, the fight.. No it wasn't. Little things can split up a marriage faster than anything.  Terry and I can get through all of the big things that have happened in our lifes but we really have to work on the little things.  I let the little things get to me and Terry would rather let them slide off of his shoulder and not worry about it.  So we clash.  I want to talk them out and he doesn't so I let it stew in me until I blow up and then there is a fight.

Terry is a wonderful husband and a great dad.  He loves his kids more than anything.  He always had weird days off in the middle of the week and didn't let the kids go to daycare unless he had to do something.  He wanted them with him.  He coached Michael, Torie and Chelby's softball teams for years.  It was fun for him and for the kids but was a way for him to bond with each one of the kids.  He cried when the kids all went to their first dance, when they got married and when they had their babies.  His kids are very important to him.  He was there when Breanna was born and was the strong one when we didn't know if she would make it. He was the one that flew down with her to Arizona when she needed her lifesaving surgery.  He watched his nephews during the day when they didn't have a sitter.  He was the wiper of snooty noses.  He loves to work in our yard and takes pride in it.  He is the only one that can mow it and mow it correctly.  He is very specific at the way in which it is mowed.  He fertilizes that heck out of it so we have one of the most lush lawns in the neighborhood.  He loves to tinker with whatever we have and build things.  It's amazing on what he can make or what he can come up with out of nothing.  He is also a big fan of NASCAR...  Did you hear me....NASCAR.  I think he breathes it.  He has gone to alot of races in Vegas and it California and if he could he would go to twice that many.  We watch it from Friday night through Sunday afternoon.  He loves certain TV shows and unless we go to another room we watch what he wants to watch.  This has caused many many many heated discussions.  Terry is a very layed back man.  Not much gets to him but when it does he lets you know.

His grandkids are the light of his life.  He loves being a papa.  He loves to have the kids follow him everywhere that he goes.  He has nick names for all of them.  He loves them with all of his heart but he makes them mind.  They all respect him and what he stands for.  These kids are his reason for living.  He wouldn't trade it for the world. He never goes to bed or gets off the phone without telling you how much he loves you or without giving you a kiss. Terry has been my soul mate for almost 34 years.  We do have our ups and downs but in the end what we have gone through has been more than worth everything.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  He is the other half that makes me a whole.  Without him I wouldn't be who I am and we wouldn't have the most beautiful wonderful kids that we have today.  I love you my darling and I know that I don't tell you that enough.  Thanks for 34 years and here is to 34 more years together.  I look forward to growing old and spending the rest of my life with you.  I love you with all of my heart and soul.  Love you babe!

Best Friends

Oh man, This is not easy.  How do I pick just one best friend?  I can honestly say that I don't have just one best friend.  I can not single one person out.  I have many friends for many reasons.  I would have to say that my husband Terry is on of the top of my list.  I can talk to him about everything and anything.  It doesn't matter what it is.  Then my family and this means all of my family come next..  Michael, Torie, Chelby, Breanna, Celest, Michael, Logan, Dad, Denise, Michelle, Lance, Jeri, Kelly, Chris, Angie, Liz, Barb, Natalie... The list goes on and on.  These guys are a very important part of my life, each one for a different reason.  I can tell each one of them what is going on in my life or what isn't going on in my life, They are my sounding boards who don't judge me or judge what I am talking about. When I need to talk to them they listen to me and make me feel like I am the most important thing at that time.  Each one has a special place in my heart and mean the world to me. True friendship isn't seen with the eyes, it is felt with the heart. Where there is trust, understanding, loyalty and sharing you will find my friends.  True friends are rare, but when they are found they have a profound impact on your well being, strength and character. True friends do not need elaborate gifts or spectacular events in order to be valuable or valued. True friendships only need a few key ingredients: Undying loyalty, unmatched understanding, unsurpassed trust, Deep and soulful secrets and endless sharing. These ingredients mixed with personality and a sense of humor can make a friendship last a lifetime. This is just a thank you to you my best friends for all the wonderful and colorful special ingredients that each of you have brought to my life.  I love you all very much for who you are and what you have brought to my life.  Without you I wouldn't be me.  Thanks very much for being my best friends.

Denise, Michelle, Scotty and Lance

I am a very lucky sister.  I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers.  I am the oldest and probably not the wisest of the bunch..Haha. Denise is the next oldest and is the best school teacher out there.  Michelle comes next and she is the best hair dresser there is. Scotty is my first brother.  He is no longer with us.  He passed away when he was twelve.  He was "Heavens Very Special Child" that our family was able to have and love for 12 very short years. Lance is the youngest of us all.  He is an engineer and I would have to say one of the best.  We have alot of fun together. When we have a family get together my dad has to tell his children not his grandchildren to behave and to be quiet.  Terrys work forced us to move away from them but the love that I feel for them can not be measured.  These guys are my best friends that I can go to for anything and everything.  I love you guys with all of my heart and soul and one day not to far away we will all be together.

Denise and Michelle

You are my guiding stars
You are my shinning lights
You are my everything
that helps me through the night.

You are my heart
You are my soul
You are my saviour
which makes me feel whole.

You are more than my sisters
You are my best friends
You will be the ones that are there
when my heart needs to mend.

I love you, my sisters
more than you will ever know
You are my other half
with you I am a whole.

I love you my sisters, my friends!

Scotty - Heavens Very Special Child

A meeting was held quite from from earth!
It's time again for another birth.
Said the angels to the LORD above,
This special child will need much love!

His progress my seem so very slow,
Accomplishments me may not show.
And he will require extra care
From the folks he meets down there.

He may not run, or laugh or play,
His thoughts may seem quite far away.
In many ways he won't adapt,
And he'll be known as handicapped.

So let's be carefull where he's sent,
We want his life to be content.
Please LORD, find the parents who
Will do a special job for you.

They may not realize right away,
The leading role they're asked to play.
But with this child sent from above,
Comes stronger faith and richer love.

And soon they'll know the privledge given,
In caring for their gift from Heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild,
Is HEAVENS VERY SPECIAL CHILD!

I love and miss you Scotty Roo!

Lance

What a beautiful childhood we have had
and so many memories we hold.
We have that brother and sister bond
that is worth far more than gold.

As kids we were truly blessed
to have come from a loving home
parents that guided and loved us
and never did us wrong.

Now the years are flying by
We learn to appreciate things more
I want you to know I love you
and your beautiful heart I adore.

You've always been there for me
through all these years
You helped me through mom's death
and you wiped away my tears.

We've been through so much
I truly thank God for you
Because without you
I wouldn't have made it through.

I love you, My Brother
And this comes from my heart
You've always been special to me,
You have been right from the start.

I love you my Brother, My Friend!!

Day 3 / My Parents.. Burt and Kathryn Frasure

Mom and Dad

It's really hard to come up with the right words to describe my feelings about my mom and dad.  They are the best parents anyone could ever ask for.  I love them both with all of my heart.  The taught us that if we were honest with ourselves and our beliefs that we could do anything we set out minds and hearts to do.  They gave so much of themselves to their children and families.  Families are utmost in their lives and that was instilled into us. They loved us unconditional.  The two of them made me who I am today.

It's not what you leave your children, but what you leave in your children.

Mom, You have always been the strength that lives within me and motivates me to move ahead in life.  You have been such a strong influence in everything that I do. You have taught be to love myself and who I am and others will love me for being me. You have given me the confidence to become the person that I am today.  Because of you, I have been able to take on the world with my head held high. The values that I have received from you, I have taken and instilled into my own children and I hope that they in turn will instill it into their children.  I wish that I had one more day to give you a hug, a kiss and let you know that I love you and miss you more than words can ever express.  I love you momma.

Dad, You are the glue that has always held our family firmly together.  The qualities that you live by are the qualities that I looked for and found in Terry.  You have always supported and understood me and stood by my side not only as your daughter but as a person and a friend.   You always listen without judging and then after listening you have given advice. Because of you I have never felt alone.  I hope that I have many more years with you.  I love you daddy.

Thank you for teaching me self confidence and the freedom to be who I am.. to do what I can and solve problems the best that I can.
Thank you for showing me how to appreciate life and to find happiness in whatever comes my way.
Thank you for holding me close and letting me go at the same time.
Thank you for always being there and for always being my friends!

There are only two lasting bequests we can give our children - one is roots, the other is wings.  Roots to know where home is and wings to fly away.

I love you both more than you will ever know.  Thank you for being the best parents a girl can ever have!
Love you, Vic

Day 2 - First Love

Hmmmmm......  This is an easy one.  I would have to say my first true love Dan Browning.  I was a junior in high school and was really involved in watching the Liberty High School Wrestling team.  My girlfriend Wendy and I went to every match.  Dan was a big guy ( I was used to dating short, little guys) and I fell in love with him the first time I seen him.  His friend Randy and Wendy had become an item and they hooked us up.  The first night that we went on a date we went on a double date with Randy and Wendy.  They come to pick me up at my house and all three of them came in to get me and meet my parents.  My dad (the forever teaser and jokester) looked up at these two big guys and in his witty way looked at my mom and said "Good Hell Kate you better get these guys some milk, Vic finally brought home a big one".  I was mortified but Dan laughed at it and thought that my dad was a pretty neat guy.  Dan and I dated for a year before I moved back to Idaho.

"I Love Me Some Me".

Day 1 - Introduction

Hi, My Name is Vicki.  I have watched Chelby do her blog and how much she enjoys it.  It has inspired me to start my own.
I live in Tooele, Utah with my husband Terry of 33 years.  I was born in Poctello, Idaho on June 22, 19xx (cough, cough) to Burt and Kathryn Frasure.  I have 4 brothers and sisters, Denise, Michelle, Scotty and Lance. We lived in Pocatello until I was in 4th grade and moved to Spokane, Washington with my dads work.  We lived there until I was a Junior in High School when we moved back to Pocatello where I finished my senior year and graduated from Highland High School. I met Terry in April, we were engaged in May and married in September of 1977.  We started our family a year later. Together we have 4 wonderful children, Michael, (who is married to Celest) Torie,(who is married to Michael) Chelby (who is engaged to Logan)  and Breanna, they in turn have blessed me with 4 beautiful grandchildren, Alyssa, Connor, Aidan and Austin.
I think that I have a very outgoing personality and I am not afraid to tease or have fun.  I love to play jokes as well as be on the receiving end of them.  I am very family orientated and they are my reason for being here.
I hope that you enjoy my blog and that I am interesting enough that you want to read it.
